Crafting an exciting and unforgettable 10-day trip to France for a client recently has been a highlight of my year, for sure! I wanted to share what an itinerary with Ohana-Adevntures could look like for you – it can be as detailed or general as you wish. Given this client’s interests in sightseeing and wine, I created an itinerary that combined the best of French culture, history, and gastronomy with a focus on scenic landmarks and renowned vineyards. I have generalized some of the areas of this itinerary to keep **some** things private 🙂
Day 1: Arrival in Paris
9:00 AM: Arrive in Paris, check into the hotel, and freshen up. 11:00 AM: Visit the Eiffel Tower and take in panoramic views of the city. 1:00 PM: Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a nearby café, savoring classic French dishes. 2:30 PM: Explore the Trocadéro Gardens and take photos. 4:00 PM: Cruise along the Seine River to see iconic landmarks. 6:00 PM: Stroll through the Champs-Élysées. 7:30 PM: Dinner at a traditional French bistro.
Day 2: Paris – Historical and Cultural Highlights
9:00 AM: Visit the Louvre Museum. 12:00 PM: Lunch at one of the Louvre’s cafes. 1:30 PM: Walk to Sacré–Cœur and explore the interior. 3:00 PM: Explore the Latin Quarter and the Pantheon. 5:00 PM: Visit the Luxembourg Gardens. 7:00 PM: Dinner in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area.
Day 3: Palace of Versailles
9:00 AM: Depart for Versailles. 10:00 AM: Guided tour of the Palace of Versailles. 12:00 PM: Lunch at a charming local restaurant in Versailles. 1:30 PM: Explore the Gardens of Versailles. 3:00 PM: Visit the Trianon Palaces and Marie Antoinette’s Estate. 5:00 PM: Return to Paris. 7:00 PM: Dinner at a restaurant with views of the Eiffel Tower.
Day 4: Paris to Champagne Region
9:00 AM: Depart Paris for the Champagne region (Reims). 11:00 AM: Visit Taittinger Champagne House for a guided tour and tasting. 1:00 PM: Lunch in Reims at a typical French restaurant. 2:30 PM: Visit Reims Cathedral. 4:00 PM: Visit Veuve Clicquot for another champagne tour and tasting. 6:00 PM: Check into local hotel. 7:00 PM: Dinner in a local Reims brasserie.
Day 5: Explore Champagne and Travel to Burgundy
9:00 AM: Tour the Moët & Chandon Champagne cellars in Épernay. 11:30 AM: Take a scenic drive through the Champagne vineyards. 1:00 PM: Lunch at a quaint bistro in Épernay. 2:30 PM: Depart for Dijon, Burgundy. 5:30 PM: Arrive in Dijon and check into the hotel. 7:00 PM: Dinner at a local Burgundy restaurant.
Day 6: Wine Tasting in Burgundy
9:00 AM: Explore the historic center of Dijon. 11:00 AM: Depart for a day of wine tasting in the Côte de Nuits wine region. 12:00 PM: Lunch at a vineyard restaurant. 1:30 PM: Continue wine tasting at local wineries. 4:00 PM: Return to Dijon. 6:00 PM: A leisurely evening walk through Dijon. 7:30 PM: Dinner in Dijon featuring regional specialties.
Day 7: Beaune and Wine Tasting
9:00 AM: Travel from Dijon to Beaune. 10:00 AM: Visit the Hospices de Beaune. 12:00 PM: Lunch at a local eatery in Beaune. 1:30 PM: Wine tasting in Beaune’s famous wine cellars. 4:00 PM: Explore Beaune’s charming streets and shops. 6:00 PM: Return to Dijon. 7:30 PM: Dinner in Dijon.
Day 8: Lyon Sightseeing
9:00 AM: Depart Dijon for Lyon. 11:30 AM: Check into your Lyon hotel. 12:00 PM: Lunch at a bouchon, a traditional Lyonnais restaurant. 1:30 PM: Explore Vieux Lyon (Old Town), including a visit to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. 3:30 PM: Stroll through the traboules (hidden passageways). 5:00 PM: Visit the Presqu’île district. 7:00 PM: Dinner at a fine dining restaurant in Lyon.
Day 9: Côtes du Rhône Wine Tour
9:00 AM: Depart Lyon for the Côtes du Rhône wine region. 10:30 AM: Begin a day of wine tasting at selected wineries. 1:00 PM: Lunch at a scenic winery restaurant. 2:30 PM: Continue wine tasting at different estates. 4:00 PM: Drive back to Lyon. 7:00 PM: Farewell dinner in Lyon
Day 10: Departure Day
9:00 AM: A relaxed breakfast at the hotel. 10:00 AM: Last-minute shopping or a visit to a local market. 12:00 PM: Lunch at a café. 1:30 PM: Return to the hotel to check out and prepare for departure. 3:00 PM: Transfer to the airport. 5:00 PM: Enjoy some leisure time at the airport duty-free shops. 7:00 PM onwards: Depart from Lyon.
