As an avid theme park enthusiast, the recent release of new details about Universal’s Epic Universe has certainly re-ignited my excitement for our parks here in the US. In their announcement a few days ago, Universal Orlando Resort has shared tantalizing glimpses into the wonders that await within the groundbreaking Epic Universe, slated to open in 2025.
Celestial Park: A World of Mythical Marvels
At the heart of this extraordinary universe lies Celestial Park, a realm described as putting “the ‘park’ back in ‘theme park.'” Boasting acres of lush gardens, picturesque walkways, and enchanting water features, Celestial Park promises an experience unlike any other. Inspired by astronomical and mythological elements, this celestial haven will feature a constellation of attractions that cater to every taste and age.
Starfall Racers: A Celestial Coaster
Starfall Racers, a dual-launch roller coaster, will send adventurers racing through at speeds of up to 62 mph and soaring to heights of 133 feet. A 5,000-foot-long track promises an exhilarating journey through the celestial wonders that define this unique universe.
Constellation Carousel: A Whirl of Wonders
Constellation Carousel, beckons visitors of all ages to embark on a magical ride amidst mythical constellations. It’s a timeless attraction that perfectly captures the essence of this celestial world.
Gastronomic Delights and Retail Therapy
Celestial Park is not just a feast for the senses but also for the taste buds and shopaholics. Indulge in a surf-and-turf experience at Atlantic, or savor Pan-Asian delicacies at the Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant. Enjoy smoky flavors at the Oak & Star Tavern. And to satisfy your sweet tooth (and mine) head to the Nintendo Super Star Store and Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel: Where Earth and Heavens Unite
Epic Universe will house the Universal Helios Grand Hotel at the end of Celestial Park. This 500-room marvel is designed to transport guests to another world. It offers park views and has a dedicated entrance into the park. The Helios joins the two other new hotels opening in 2025: the Universal Stella Nova Resort and the Universal Terra Luna Resort.
Portals to Otherworldly Adventures
Celestial Park launches visitors into four other themed worlds through enchanting portals: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Super Nintendo World, Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
I can’t help but marvel at the promise of Epic Universe. Universal needed this, they needed something to keep up with their neighbor down the street. The unveiling of more details in the coming months and the opening of a preview center at Universal CityWalk later this year will keep the hype alive. Hoping for more info soon. For now, bravo Universal, bravo.
